Klopp Farewell ends in defeat to ferocious Wolfsburg !!

  1. Wolfsburg won the German Cup final 3-1 at Berlin's Olympic Stadium
  2. Klopp farewell is a day to forget for Dortmund Fans
  3. Dortmund scored early but weak defending make them concede
  4. Wolfsburg scored three impressive first half goals

Wolfsburg spoiled Jurgen Klopp Dortmund farewell by winning 3-1 to claim German Cup.
Aubameyang gave early lead to put Dortmund in front but Wolfs turned every thing around after going 1-0 down. Kevin De Bruyne put Wolfs in complete command before half time.

Dortmund were unable to respond in the second half as Wolfsburg lifted the first trophy after wining Bundesliga in 2009, and Dieter Hecking's first ever as a coach.

Dortmund will enter Europa League qualifying rounds next season, local rivals Schalke benefited taking a place in group stage.

Dortmund started the game well when Aubameyang scored on a volley from Shinji Kagawa's cross.

Langerak came up with a good save from Ivan Perisic's shot but later with Naldo free-kick on Gustavo feet who leveled the score early in first half.

Then later De bruyne 20 yard shot went inside the left hand post at this time Dortmund keeper was not at fault this time.

Wolfsburg looked ferocious and hungry to win the title as they doubled their lead with Dost header from Perisic's Cross at this time Subotic was away from his marker and Dortmund paid the price for his mistake.

In the second half Dortmund tried to get back into the game with Kagawa's shot just miss the right hand side post and Aubameyang free kick nearly gave Dortmund a goal to come back into a game but this time Swiss keeper was at his best to stop the dipping free kick.

Wolfsburg looked in total control from the moment they took the lead and never looked back as they claim their first ever German Cup under Dieter Hecking's and they have finished at No. 2 spot in Bundesliga.

Later in press conference Jurgen Klopp admitted this defeat has brought him to tears.

" I feel below average, " he admitted after the game ." I am working very hard with to keep my emotions in check. Every time I hug a player, the tears come because i know this is the last time i hug him.

"I am grateful for seven years i have had here too. I have to deal with it one step at a time and i will do that once there is no camera pointed at me."

However, the 47-year old coach, who has been linked with the moves to Liverpool and Ac Milan , believes the loss was some what unjust.

" Against opponents who are this good on counterattack, we did many things right," he said. "But we had no luck in our actions. One of the Toughest challenges in life is to deal with defeats.

"I credit Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking, i credit the guys, But it was an unlucky defeat today."

Klopp has won two Bundesliga titles  and runner's up spot in champions league, But he leaves Dortmund with 50/50 emotions of successful and unsuccessful campaign leaving Dortmund to Europa league qualifying round.

Kevin De Bruyne was a Bundesliga best player of the season and Wolfsburg will hard to find to stop him from the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester city.

He set up the chance after chance for Wolfsburg and keep Dortmund defence on their feet all the time by testing goal keeper many times through his chance creation and scored a stunning goal as well.

Hummels and Subotic are good defenders and seems like they will stay at Dortmund next season as Subotic signed a new contract and Hummels rejected a move to Manchester United but they were awful in yesterday game and they got no support from there full backs as they were all over the place. There was a total chaos in defence yesterday and on occasions this season. New coach Tuchel has a job to do to get back his defence on line. Dortmund defence use to be world class but lately they are not even there. Hummels and Subotic needs some defending basic courses as well.

At the end good team win and Wolfsburg closed their season in an impressive style by defeating Dortmund and lifting DFB-POKAL and Klopp did not get the farewell he wanted his team was hunted by Ferocious Wolfsburg who have much to offer in coming seasons with this lot of impressive players.
